Elagabalus: Rome's Most Foolish Ruler

In the annals of Roman history, there have been many illustrious emperors celebrated for their conquests, reforms, or statesmanship.  However, among the emperors, there also lies a peculiar figure whose reign was marked by absurdity, excess, and folly.  Emperor Elagabalus, also known as Heliogabalus, ascended to the throne in 218 AD at the tender age of 14, yet his reign would go down in history not for his achievements, but for his bizarre antics and erratic behavior.
