PCOM Calls for The Expulsion of Israel from The United Nations

Annexation Plan of the West Bank: Another Form of Israeli Colonization and Gangsterism

In continuation of the systematic ethnic cleansing of Palestine and in line with the provisions of the US imperialist plan, the so-called “Deal of the Century”, the Israeli occupation emergency government intends to approve legislation to annex large parts of the West Bank which is expected to take place by this month, July 2020.

The annexation plan aims at legalizing and directly governing the illegally built Israeli settlements on large parts of Jerusalem and the West Bank, including Jordan Valley, an overall of approximately 42% of the West Bank, which constitutes 63% of Area C that includes 87% of the natural resources of the West Bank, 90% of its forests, and 49% of its roads.

The Israeli annexation move arises as another form of colonization, terrorism, and gangsterism of Israel over the Palestinian rights.

According to the Fourth Geneva Convention, an occupier may not transfer its population to territory it occupies in order to prevent the colonization of occupied territories.

The annexation of a territory acquired through war is impermissible under international law, as stated in the preamble to UNSC Resolution 242 in 1967, and occasions of such forceful and unilateral annexation have been roundly condemned by the UN, as Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem in 1980 and the Golan Heights in 1981.

After 71 years of Israel's admission to membership in the United Nations, it must be stressed that the Israeli occupying government has failed to fulfil the obligations and undertakings in accordance with which its UN membership was accepted.

Israel has refused to honour these obligations to which reference is made to the UN Charter and UN General Assembly resolutions, specifically those relating to the implementation of
General Assembly resolutions 181 (II) of 29 November 1947 and 194 (III) of 11 December 1948.

In the light of the ongoing responsibility of the United Nations and the international community for the question of Palestine and of its role in establishing a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, the international community must ensure that Israel respects the provisions of the UN Charter, international law in general and international humanitarian law, the UN resolutions.

Israel must withdraw, without qualifications or conditions, from all the occupied lands after occupied.

Otherwise, the UN General Assembly is urged to consider the cancelation of the Israeli membership in the United Nations General Assembly and all UN agencies accordingly.

Israel has persisted in systematically violating United Nations resolutions over the past decades.

It continues to occupy the Palestinian territories in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. It refuses to withdraw from these territories.

It pursues violations in the form of settler colonialism, the expulsion of Palestinians from the occupied territories, the destruction of their homes, expropriation of their land and property, the torture of prisoners, the violation of human rights, and the persistent siege on Gaza.

It is also continuing to pursue policies that provoke tension in the Palestinian occupied territories and pose a threat to international peace and security in general, suchhas its recent annexation plan which puts an end of the two-state solution that has been fighting death for years.

It will certainly lead to new confrontation and unfortunate losses in human lives and rights.

We at the Palestinian Cultural Organization Malaysia (PCOM), urge all countries to strongly condemn the Israeli annexation plan of the Palestinian occupied territories, issue a strong letter of protest against the Israeli illegal plan, and urge the UN General Assembly for an immediate action to stop the Israeli terrorism against the Palestinians.

We call all governments, parliaments, political parties, non-government organizations, and activists to vocally reject this plan and further support the rights of Palestinians over their land.

We urge all parties to take serious steps to put sanctions and boycott Israel in all aspects.

We extend the call to the United Nations General Assembly to expel Israel from its assembly and all UN agencies considering the failure of Israel to fulfil its UN membership obligations and undertakings stated in the UN Charter and resolutions aforementioned.

We as Palestinians will continue our struggle until the Israeli annexation plans and other colonial schemes are thwarted. Palestine is our indisputable right.

Accidents caused by heavy vehicles are a growing threat to road safety

The frequent occurrence of accidents involving trucks and trailers in Malaysia has become a pressing concern, highlighting systemic issues within the country's transportation and enforcement systems.  These heavy vehicles, essential for the logistics and supply chain sectors, have been implicated in numerous fatal accidents, often due to negligence, poor maintenance, or inadequate oversight. One of the glaring problems is the lack of enforcement on overloaded trucks. Overloading not only compromises the stability of these vehicles but also accelerates wear and tear on roads, increasing the risk of accidents.  Despite stringent regulations, enforcement remains inconsistent, allowing errant operators to prioritize profits over public safety. Driver fatigue is another critical factor. Many truck drivers endure grueling hours to meet delivery deadlines, often at the expense of rest and alertness.  Without strict adherence to working hour limits and proper monitoring me...
