Over three action-packed days, the event featured insightful workshops, business meetings, and international collaborations, positioning Malaysia as a regional digital creative hub.

Officiated by YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, and YB Tuan Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Chairman of MDEC, the MYDCF Biz Day 2024 highlighted Malaysia’s ambition to become a leading regional digital creative hub by 2030.

The event attracted over 1,000 participants from countries including Malaysia, South Korea, India, China, Japan, Iran, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines, and featured more than 100 speakers from North America, Europe, Australia, and the region.

It served as a vibrant platform for fostering collaboration and driving innovation in the digital creative industry.

A significant highlight of MYDCF Biz Day 2024 was the SEA Awards 2024, a prestigious event that recognised the best digital content creators across Southeast Asia.

The SEA Awards celebrated excellence in animation, digital content, and gaming, demonstrating the immense potential of the region’s digital creative industries.

This year’s awards saw over 300 submissions from more than 10 countries, showcasing the talent and diversity of the Southeast Asian digital creative ecosystem.

The awards provided a platform for creators to gain international recognition, solidifying Malaysia’s leadership in the sector.

The SEA Awards 2024 encompassed three key categories:

1.  SEA Game Awards – With 107 submissions from over 10 countries, the SEA Game Awards will honour the best in Southeast Asian gaming across 13 awards. One of the standout winners was Toge Productions from Indonesia, which secured two awards, Best Audio Design and Best Game Design.

2.  SEA Kre8tif! Awards—This category received 147 regional submissions, with nine awards celebrating achievements in animation and creative content. Notable winners included Rawr Pictures, whose   project The Muralz—Year of the Flying Dragon, swept multiple categories, including Best Audio Design and Best Animation Motion Graphics.

Through MYDCF Biz Day 2024, MDEC and its strategic partners are excited to continue driving the digital creative industry forward, fostering new opportunities for talent across Southeast Asia.

With the support from industry leaders and the Ministry of Digital, Malaysia is poised to remain at the forefront of digital content creation and innovation in the region.

The SEA Awards 2024 honoured a total of 31 winners across the three categories, celebrating the best of Southeast Asia’s digital artistry.

Accidents caused by heavy vehicles are a growing threat to road safety

The frequent occurrence of accidents involving trucks and trailers in Malaysia has become a pressing concern, highlighting systemic issues within the country's transportation and enforcement systems.  These heavy vehicles, essential for the logistics and supply chain sectors, have been implicated in numerous fatal accidents, often due to negligence, poor maintenance, or inadequate oversight. One of the glaring problems is the lack of enforcement on overloaded trucks. Overloading not only compromises the stability of these vehicles but also accelerates wear and tear on roads, increasing the risk of accidents.  Despite stringent regulations, enforcement remains inconsistent, allowing errant operators to prioritize profits over public safety. Driver fatigue is another critical factor. Many truck drivers endure grueling hours to meet delivery deadlines, often at the expense of rest and alertness.  Without strict adherence to working hour limits and proper monitoring me...
